You are more than a score.

And…no one wants to peak in high school.

Somewhere along the way, we started measuring worth in grades, ranks, salaries, followers, and finish lines. And we started believing — quietly, painfully — that our own value might come down to a number on a page or a title on a résumé.

More Than a Score exists because we think that story is getting something very wrong.

What this space is for

This is a platform for three kinds of people who have more in common than they might realise:

Parents who want to help their child experience real success, knowing there's no single right path, and that the one that fits their young person might look nothing like the one we took (or appeared on a brochure).

Educators who got into this work to shape lives, not just test scores, and who are looking for ideas, and ways to help them do what they came here to do.

People navigating change - a career shift, an identity reset, a season of “what now?”, and need a reminder that life doesn’t follow a straight line.

If you’re in any of these groups, you’re in the right place.

What you’ll get when you subscribe

  • Podcast episodes with honest conversations — real stories from people (no AI!) who’ve navigated pressure, setbacks, reinvention, and success on their unique path.

  • Practical articles you can actually use - less the fluff and jargon. Just ideas and ways of thinking that hold up in real life, whether you’re parenting a young person, leading a classroom, or figuring out your own next chapter.

  • Helpful resources — conversation starters, reflection prompts, reading lists, and tools designed to be shared (or used quietly on your own).

Why this, why now

Young people today are navigating more noise, more comparison, and more pressure than any generation before them. The adults around them — parents, teachers, mentors — are often carrying their own version of the same weight. And the truth is, you can’t pour into someone else from an empty cup.

So our podcast and newsletter is for all of us. The ones raising them, teaching them, becoming them, and still becoming ourselves.

Our identity isn’t a score. Our worth isn’t a ranking. And the most important things about a person rarely show up on an exam or report card.
